For the record, state your name, age and current status...
My name is Leyla Nejem. I'm a twenty-seven-year-old shifter and currently a slave up for auction (again). My previous master apparently got into an altercation with another vampire and ended himself up in one of those comas vampires suffer from when deprived of blood for too long.
Good. Tell me more about this status if you will.
I was born in Morocco and lived there until I was seventeen. We moved to France, to a small town. After settling in, we went spent the first few months adjusting, and then, for a summer trip, we decided to travel around the continent some. Since it was close to Morocco, we headed toward Spain first. On subsequent trips, we said, we would visit Italy, Germany, and all the rest. Best to hit up the peninsula first before tackling the cluster of countries to the east. My parents were also shifters, and when we believed we were alone, we had a habit of shifting and enjoying a few minutes or hours in the skies. Unfortunately, during our vacation, that landed us in captivity to some vampires. I'll spare you and myself both the details. Suffice it to say that we have been split up and enslaved for the past ten years.
You don't mind if I record this right? Now, What are you exactly and how did you come to be that way?
I'm a shifter, and my animal is a common buzzard. Sounds unattractive and unfortunate, right? Wrong. But I won't go into that here. You'll see in time, I'm sure. Alternatively, just browse the internet for some basic information. You'll find out pretty quickly how "unfortunate" it is shift into a buzzard. Both my parents also shift into buzzards like I do, so I haven't known anything different.
Hmmm, Interesting. Before we let you go, Tell us a bit about yourself. Anything you can think of. Weaknesses maybe? Strength? Any special powers we should be aware of?
As a shifter, I've got sharp senses and added strength, and, obviously, I can shift into a buzzard. Outside of that, no real powers that I'm aware of. Strengths of mine include music (singing and dancing), cooking, and languages. I speak Arabic, French, and English, and I can pick up others quickly. I enjoy reading and time outside, and I prefer to spend more time alone that with others. While I don't quite know where I stand on the topic of children and motherhood, I do seem drawn to infants. Toddlers and younger children are cute, but they don't hold much appeal to me. Not sure why.
In terms of weaknesses... the vampires use my parents' whereabouts to keep me in line. I hate them for it, but there's nothing I can do. I don't know where they are or how they might get hurt if I disobey. I'm already afraid my escapes during those first few years put them at risk. Aside from that, I feel like I'm pretty well-rounded. I can get a little anxious, I suppose, around shifters whose animals would be a threat to mine, and I can't own any small animals like rabbits, birds, or lizards without running the risk of them being gone after a shift... But, mmm, do I enjoy cooking rabbit and pheasant! Off topic. I apologize. What else? ... I can grow agitated if I haven't shifted in a while, and when I finally get to shift again, it's easier for the buzzard to take over. I don't particularly consider that a weakness, but it's something that occurs not infrequently.

[b]Personality:[/b] [div align="justify"]She has a strong spirit, which can lead to outspokenness against her master or small acts of defiance. In her youth, she made a handful of escapes, but each time was caught, retrained, and resold. In the past five years, however, she has made no attempts to flee. While she has friends and possesses a charming personality, in general, she tends to keep to herself. Despite her bit of independence, she's actually a good slave to have around. She gets down to business and accomplishes her tasks efficiently, with little to no error. She enjoys cooking, reading, and time outside. For a shifter, she seems to have less of an instinct to attack vampires, and her previous masters have had very few problems in that respect. It should be noted that she has made no attempts to flee after shifting but that she may take a little extra time sometimes to enjoy flying, and if allowed to shift freely, she will be gone for a few hours. Previous masters have noted that her parents' safety and whereabouts are a large factor in her compliance. New masters should also be aware that prolonged shift-free periods leave her to grow more and more agitated, and that her animal will take over more once she is allowed to shift again, so allowing frequent shifting is recommended.[/div]
